Bernajean's Categories Published 2006-06-10

I want to thank Tim Wilson - The Savvy Technologist - for his excellent interviews with Bernajean Porter and Joe Lambert. If you have not listen to them (or any of Tim's podcasts, I recommend it. Podcast Links). Bernajean, in discussing assessment, suggests that the media (sound, images, video, transitions, etc.) should be categorized as (and I paraphrase):

• detracting from the story
• supporting the story
• enhancing the story

I love the simplicity of these categories, the focus on the true product (the story) and its application to all educational technology.
